Seminar on “Media’s Role in Preventing Conflict and Promoting Global Harmony.
The Department of Media and Communication Studies, University of Sialkot, organized a seminar titled “Media’s Role in Preventing Conflict and Promoting Global Harmony” under the supervision of Dr. Rooma Shahzadi (Head -Department of Media and Communication Studies) , with the support of the Department’s faculty members. The event focused on the role of media in promoting peace, responsible communication, and global understanding.
The gathering featured speakers from academia, media, and religious studies. Dr. Naveed Jamil Malik (Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences) spoke about the role of universities in developing responsible media professionals. Mr. Ahmed Warraich (Senior Analyst & Anchor Person, PTV News) shared insights on balanced and focused reporting with peace. Mr. Khalid Qayum (Senior Columnist, Express Media Group) discussed how responsible writing helps shape public opinion, while Moulana Imran Bashir (Renowned Religious Scholar) highlighted values of tolerance, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence.
The seminar reflected the university’s commitment to addressing important global issues. The worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq Ur Rehman, appreciated the Department of Media and Communication Studies for organizing this insightful seminar.
