Islamic Studies in the Modern World – Seerah, Knowledge, Faith & Technology

The Department of Islamic Studies, University of Sialkot organized its Departmental Open House 2026, showcasing the contemporary relevance and evolving scope of Islamic Studies in today’s world.

 

A highlight of the event was an engaging student presentation on “Islamic Studies in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” exploring how digital technologies and AI are transforming the study, teaching, research, and dissemination of Islamic knowledge. The session was further enriched by keynote speaker Soban Attari, who shared inspiring insights on Islamic values, character building, and contemporary challenges in the light of the Seerah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.

 

The Open House reflected the Department’s commitment to nurturing graduates equipped with Islamic knowledge, critical thinking, technological awareness, and practical skills to serve society effectively.

Research Workshop on Academic Excellence & Advanced Research Methodologies

 

The Department of Business, Faculty of Management & Administrative Sciences (FMAS), University of Sialkot, organized a Research Workshop aimed at strengthening research capacity and enhancing scholarly excellence among faculty members, PhD scholars, and research students.

The workshop was conducted by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, Professor at the Beijing Institute of Technology, China, and an internationally acclaimed researcher with an impressive H-index of 175 and more than 102,000 citations. During the session, he shared valuable insights on academic publishing in high-impact journals, sustainability research, economics, finance, and contemporary research methodologies. Participants also benefited from his extensive experience in conducting impactful research and building successful academic careers.

 

. Dr. Shamim Akhtar, Head of the Department of Business, emphasized the department’s dedication to promoting quality research and providing opportunities for faculty and scholars to engage with leading international academics.

 

The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, PhD scholars, and research students, who engaged in meaningful discussions and gained practical knowledge to strengthen their research endeavors. The workshop served as a valuable platform for learning, collaboration, and academic growth.
