Seminar on “Islamic Perspective of Minority Rights and Religious Tolerance”
The University of Sialkot organized a seminar titled “Islamic Perspective of Minority Rights and Religious Tolerance.” under the Supervision of Dr. Abdul Rehman (Head-Department of Islamic Studies) with the coordination of the Society for Tolerance, Empathy & Peace (STEP), University of Sialkot, to encourage interfaith harmony and social respect.
Mr. Muhammad Shahid (Department of Islamic Studies, uskt), was the guest speaker. His lecture focused on the Islamic principles of justice and peaceful coexistence. He specifically cited exemplary instances from the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم), to demonstrate the importance of protecting the rights of non-Muslims with compassion and fairness.
The seminar effectively highlighted the university’s commitment to promoting inclusive social values. The worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq Ur Rahman appreciated the efforts of Department of Islamic Studies and the STEP society. The event concluded with Prof. Dr. Aslam Dar (Dean, Inter Faculty Linkages), presenting certificates of appreciation to the speaker and for the acknowledgement of the Department of Islamic Studies and STEP society for their efforts.
