Open House 2026 | Department of Media and Communication Studies, University of Sialkot
The Department of Media and Communication Studies, University of Sialkot, organized Open House 2026, bringing together academia, industry professionals, alumni, prospective students, and parents for a vibrant celebration of creativity, innovation, and future opportunities in the media industry.
The event featured an insightful Panel Discussion on “AI and Media: Preparing Future Communication Professionals”, where distinguished alumni and industry experts shared their experiences and perspectives on the evolving landscape of media and communication. The panel included renowned actor Mr. Khaqan Shahnawaz, along with Ms. Khadija Bhalli (Social Media Influencer, Discover Pakistan), Ms. Maryum Riaz (Model), and Mr. Moeez Majeed Butt (HR Executive, Air Sial).
The Open House was organized under the supervision of Dr. Rooma Shahzadi, (HOD) with the dedicated support and cooperation of faculty members Dr. Mir Ahmad Feroz, Ms. Noma Khawaja, and Mr. Hafiz Muhammad Humza.
The event was attended by respected Deans, Directors, faculty members, alumni, prospective students, and parents. Engaging activities, including theatre performances, talk shows, student project displays, and interactive sessions, added excitement and entertainment to the occasion.
A special highlight of the event was the official Logo Reveal of the Department of Media and Communication Studies, symbolizing the department’s vision, identity, and commitment to excellence in media education.
Appreciation certificates were distributed among faculty members, students, and contributors in recognition of their efforts. Shields were also presented to the distinguished guests as a token of gratitude for their valuable participation.
The department received appreciation from Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq Ur Rahman, Vice Chancellor, University of Sialkot, Mr. Khaqan Shahnawaz (Chief Guest), and Mr. Naveed Jamil Malik, Dean, (FHSS), who commended the department for organizing a remarkable event that effectively connected academia with the professional media industry while preparing students for future challenges and opportunities.
